Dear Sisters, Mothers, Daughters, Creatrixes, Sorcerers, Heroines and Healers

We want to highlight that it is not unusual to feel a little tender or emotional after we take time from our life to do some work on ourselves. Sometimes emotions or memories can surface when they have time to release, so if you feel like you are carrying something over or have been affected by someone else’s energy then it is a good idea to have some self care resources and tools to support yourself through a challenging phase or cycle.

Not all practices are for everyone, just like yoga there is a huge range of lineages and styles out there so it’s worth finding something to support your life when you need it.

For mental, physical emotional and energetic wellbeing we recommend

Bodywork like Craniosacral Therapy, Shiatsu, Somatics and Massage are great ways to work stories out of the body and bring some release to a tight situation held within.

Meditation:  only 15 minutes a day will give you plenty of access to the field of pure potential.

☾✩☽ Creating Sacred Space at home ☾✩☽

That which is placed on the altar is altered

~Marianne Williamson

IMG_4566 4.jpg

An altar is a sacred space that can be used for ritual. Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, everyone craves a sense of the holy or sacred in their lives. Whether it’s sacred time, a sacred place, a holy place, or sacred relationships, there is a human craving for that which is to be revered and respected.

Having an altar in your home is a way to connect to the sacred on a daily basis.

Altars are places of worship that infuse the space around them with the energy of your practice. Think of an altar as a physical manifestation of your inner spiritual landscape. Your altar is a place of solace and repose that becomes a receptacle for your spiritual energy. And when you sit before it, that energy is reflected back to you. Altars have been used for millennia in religious ceremonies and holy architecture. Traditionally the site of a sacrifice or ritual, altars are typically associated with making offerings to God or Gods (or Goddesses). Each religious tradition has their own version of an altar.

Whether to deepen your connection to prayers, to the divine, to the source, or to love, altars are a beautiful symbol of our cycles: from inspiration from our pasts, to the abundance in our futures.

Your Altar space can be a focus for your heartfelt intentions. It will provide a very real and simple reminder of what is important to you and what you are working toward. The objects you adorn your altar with represent you vision and remind you to stay on your path.

Your Altar is an outer representation of your inner attunement. It’s a way of honouring yourself by having a place that is solely yours and represents your deepest calling. Over time, just entering into the space of the altar will inspire and alter your energy and mood.

Place sacred objects on it that connect you with your inner and outer journey. Think nature - flowers, shells, stones, holy objects, crystals, candles, oils, sacred text and images that connect you to the highest vibration of your Souls Calling and Service. Then take time to connect with those feelings within yourself.

What Do I Do with My Altar?

Making the altar is an important part of the practice, but it is simply décor until your use it for your sadhana. With your intention, your altar becomes the special space at which you experience your personal rituals and practices. Prayer, ceremony, meditation, and chanting will “feed” the items on your altar with powerful energy, which will in turn “feed” you each time you return.

One of the nice things about having a home altar is that it is an ever-present part of your experience, and each time you walk by it, you can receive some of its energy. It can also call to you to drop in to moments of connection throughout your day. Anything that helps you feel closer to your Divine nature is worthwhile, so be flexible, curious, and creative in how you curate the details. May your altar help you stay connected to the intentions you set for your day and your life. Let your sacred altar reflect the sacred within
