The Trailblazery presents Moon Medicine – a monthly gathering for women to coincide with the Full Moon cycle of 2020. This is an invitation for women who are ready to harness their inner power and reclaim their wild feminine nature. Our mission is to support women to rise and lift each other up along the way. Thank you for answering the call and walking this path with us.
Moon Medicine Gathering | The Witching Hour
As we navigate global uncertainty, The Trailblazery are hosting a series of curated online experiences for women who need inspiration, encouragement and connection in the times ahead.
Moon Medicine is a circle that keeps on giving and we have hosted incredible women from over the world for our online Moon Medicine gatherings. As women and sisters, as mothers, daughters and granddaughters - this is the time to celebrate our feminine creative life force, awaken our Shakti and midwife a future that serves all beings.
At Moon Medicine we are here to empower and elevate women from all walks of life. Everyone is welcome. We will open space for you to bring whatever is alive for you and together we will explore how we can be of service to ourselves , each other and our world in these challenging times.
You are invited to gather in circle for Samhain/Halloween with two of Ireland’s creative powerhouses Olwen Fouéré and Wallis Bird and a host of inspiring medicine women on October 31.
Our next instalment is hosted by Kathy Scott {Founder of The Trailblazery} and features two extraordinary Irish women - both internationally acclaimed, award winning creatives Olwen Fouéré {actor, writer, director and theatre maker} and Wallis Bird {string-shredding singer-songwriter}
“I am over the moon to host Olwen and Wallis at our Moon Medicine Circle. It is a total dream to welcome them both at Samhain the first festival celebrated in the Celtic Wheel of the year, the feast of the dead in so many traditions. This is a time to retreat from the world and drop into the darkness – The Witching Hour.
A reviewer once said of Olwen that if she sat on a stage doing nothing it would still be utterly mesmerizing. She makes art that people find disturbing or unsettling and much of her extensive body of work is provocative and boundary pushing - the kind of art that makes you feel uneasy and stays with you for a long, long time. Her incredible adaptation and performance of the voice of the river in James Joyce's Finnegans Wake became the internationally acclaimed riverrun and I vividly remember seeing her in Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre's production of The Rite of Spring at the London Coliseum where she played The Cailleach - a crone with mysterious supernatural powers …”
In her own words
“I am attracted to these roles that allow the freedom to transcend everyday reality. To me, that’s what the theatre is there for. I never think in terms of character, but only in terms of energies or forces that work through us. Anything can be embodied in the theatre: it gives us the liberty to play. When I’m preparing for a role like this, I’m dependent on strong internal forces.. an internalised energy that goes beyond a particular acting method, beyond emotion.”
Wallis Bird has been described by the Irish Times as having enough energy on stage to be able to “kick start an entire economy”. Her live performances are visceral and spellbinding – she has been compared to a young Janis Joplin
In September 2019 Wallis released her sixth Album Woman which covers all of the major life changes since her previous album ‘Home’. Her tour was called The New Moon Tour “
In her own words:
“The World has changed a lot and I have changed with it #MeToo, Repeal the 8th, Black Lives Matter, Brexit, Migration, Trump, the Rise of racism and the environmental crisis”. Woman is my direct response to all of this. I’m calling the tour the New Moon Tour because of its symbolism; transition, femininity, the passing of time and new beginnings; the dark side of light. All of this amounts to how I feel at this point in my life. This is my new moon”.
Our next instalment of Moon Medicine, The Witching Hour, takes place online (zoom) at 7.00pm on Saturday October 31. We will welcome Samhain, the Celtic New Year - a time when the veil is thin. As we slip into the darkness in the northern hemisphere we remember the ancestors, the Otherworld and the invitation of the Cailleach – the divine hag and witch who was worshipped at this time. Together, we will share stories, songs, music, practices, ritual and resources for the times we live in. Join us and tell your sisters .

Kathy Scott has been traveling the world as a passionate student and brave pioneer of practices that bring people into intimate contact with their creativity and power. As a teacher, she beautifully weaves together all that she has gathered into a rich and generous offering. This is a deeply nourishing and powerful brew, especially for women.

Kathy Scott creates an utterly transcendent yoga experience. I attended her recent Rising Feminine Medicine Yoga Programme and it exceeded any expectations that I might have had on a mental, emotional, energetic and deeply feminine level. Her classes are packed full of wisdom, kindness, practical yoga asanas and meditative exercises that flowed off the mat with me and seamlessly threaded into my days for the rest of the week. Kathy elegantly weaves a powerful depth and breath of experience into all of her classes. Such a restorative weekly tonic. I couldn't recommend her more highly.
